Our financial cockpit for retail customers is resonating well with our target audience: Over the past year, usage of the AI Personal Finance Manager (PFM) in digital banking has increased by 31%.

This positive development is the result of continuous improvements – from an optimised user experience and deeper integration into digital banking environments to new, practical features. A key factor in this success is the categorisation of account transactions. Accurate classification of income and expenses lays the foundation for many other features, enabling an intuitive, personalised banking experience with a clear financial overview and relevant insights.

The same applies to the business counterpart of the PFM, the Business Finance Manager (BFM), where transaction categories also play a pivotal role.

New custom categories in the AI Finance Managers

With the new release, we have fulfilled a wish that has been expressed several times: The new AI Finance Managers (PFM and BFM) now allow users to create custom categories. Your customers can now use individual criteria that correspond to their own circumstances, habits, and preferences. For example, in the PFM, they can set up categories such as hobbies, pets, children, insurance, food delivery, or going-out expenses. In the BFM, they can create categories for office supplies, software and licenses, phone and internet, rent, and utilities.

This enables a more tailored and practical management of personal finances, further personalises the banking experience, and strengthens the relationship with the primary bank.

The most important advantages of custom categories include:

  • More convenience and time savings: AI-supported suggestions help you create new custom categories. At the same time, your customers retain full control over their new category.
  • Seamless integration: The custom categories are integrated into the existing functions so that everything works as seamlessly as usual.
  • Better overview: Categories are displayed directly on the transaction page, allowing your customers to review and adjust their expenses more quickly. Another benefit is that they can immediately see if their custom category matches the transaction and easily modify it if needed.

Greater Transparency and New Insights

The custom categories make the AI Finance Managers even more customer-centric, while the direct category view in the transaction list makes it even more intuitive. Your customers can now instantly see where their money is going at a glance – without having to open the detailed view. This both saves time and simplifies financial management.

What’s more, customers now benefit from new personalised financial insights that help them better understand their spending and make more informed financial decisions.
